The morning greeted us with a light snowfall, lifting my spirits
after the previous day, we had reached Whiskey Nallah.
We began in jeeps due to icy roads, skipping a small part of
the day’s planned ride. The strong headwinds on the climb of
the Morray Plains were daunting. Once over the hump, I sped
through the 50km downhill.
The post-lunch ride through the plains was serene, with undulating
roads and a picturesque atmosphere. Cycling downhill in the desert
to arrive at our resting place for the day, performing jumps and
flips, was an unforgettable experience.
On the 9th day, we witnessed snowfall again and engaged
in a spirited snowball fight. Although unable to complete the
challenging Tanglangla Pass, the World’s Second Highest
Motorable Pass, and heartbroken because of it, I was allowed
to cycle downhill after the peak. We were not allowed to be on
the pass for more than 15 minutes due to lack of oxygen at that
altitude and that being the reason why I was asked to sit in the
bus as I was slower compared to the group. Finding satisfaction
in the descent although I knew that I had not completed the
cycling expedition
