Page 5 - Manali to Leh
P. 5
On the 10th and final day of the journey, the focus shifted from
cycling to reflection and gratitude. With every pedal stroke, the
destination of Leh felt within reach. After 400km of uphill riding,
the remaining 80km on flat terrain felt effortless!!
The anticipation of reaching Leh and getting a warm bed and
hot bathing water fuelled my energy and determination for the
last push. As we continued our journey, I encountered a moment
of setback - my bicycle’s chain broke just 100 meters before the
endpoint!!
That night I slept with a smile on my lips, content with the
satisfaction of knowing that I had completed something I once
only dreamed of achieving
While packing up, I reflected on the entire journey, the moments
when I wanted to give up! But it was the power of music, the
energetic tunes of “Highway to Hell,” “Back in Black,”
“Thunderstruck,” and “Saturday Night’s Alright,” that kept me
going.
In that moment, I recalled a famous quote by Albert Einstein:
“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance, you must
keep moving.” Sharing this reflection with my friend, we laughed
it off, embracing each other, marking the end of an incredible
and unbelievable adventure.
